CURRICULUM

St. Theresa Girls Secondary School welcomes all girls (from P7 and S4) to study, grow and thrive at the best girl's school in the country to pursue still what St. John Paul II called “the selfless search for truth and for the wisdom that comes from above,” regardless of one’s faith.

At St. Theresa Girl’s Secondary School, a girl's boarding secondary school, we search for the truth across disciplines, and every continent ranging from academics to all-round human formation. Founded in 1925, we offer the National Curriculum. The school offers a wide curricula so as to provide a balanced education for the girls and wider opportunities in career options.

In the new lower secondary curriculum for senior 1 and 2, learners are expected to offer 11 compulsory subjects plus one elective study, making a total number of 12 subjects.

The Subjects

At St. Theresa Girl's Secondary School, learners study as set of compulsory subjects and choose from a range of elective subjects that allow them to follow their own interests and to specialise in particular areas.

The school also offers lessons in Tailoring and Weaving and Skilling.

In the new lower secondary curriculum for senior 3 and 4, learners are expected to offer a minimum of 8 and maximum of 9 subjects, out of which 7 are compulsory.

  • Geography

The two elective subjects are selected from the following:

  1. Practical (pre-vocational) Electives including

  • Foreign languages - French
  • Kiswahili
  • Literature in English
  • Local Languages - Luganda

 

3. Religious Education Electives including

  • Christian Religious Education

 

The school also offers lessons in Tailoring and Weaving and Skills

At 'A’ level (Senior 5 and 6) the following subjects are offered under Science or Arts.
